Exhibition

Watching people viewing my paintings is a fascinating experience. I feel a mixture of excitement and self-consciousness.

Excitement is made of child-like joy and hope. I am joyful as if I’m finally out of confinement after a long solitary process (especially during the lockdown period), and I am hopeful that someone who seeing my paintings really get it.

There is also a sense that somemen’s looking through windows into ‘my house’. I am proud of ‘my house’ but if someone really looked, they may find personal things inside it. They are not necessarily secrets but something I don’t noramlly share with others. Hence self-consciousness. I now realise that I am exhibiting parts of me through my paintings.

My paintings are currently exhibited at Mid Wales Arts Centre as part of their Christmas Exhibition. And as one of the local artists, many of my large paintings are hung in their Art Shed, too. Not only it is the biggest hanging space I have ever been given, but also they are shown in the perfect setting with abundance of light, space and peacefulness. I feel truly grateful for this opportunity to show my artworks.
