What a week...
Suddenly we were all thrown into this quiet turbulance. I was happily painting until Monday. On Tuesday, we were told that the classes and tutorials will be carried out online and the school facilities will be closed by the end of the week. I was still going to continue painting until the end of Thursday and then take my belongings home. But as everything seemed to be increasingly unpredictable, I lost the calmness for painting. So, I changed the plan quickly and packed up after my tutorial on Tuesday. It turned out, however, I should have stuck with my original plan, as we were advised to leave our completed artwork in own studio space for assessment at later time. So on Thursday, I returned to the studio with my artwork and portfolio. There was confusion even then, as security staff weren’t aware of this arrangement and so insisted I took everything out of the building. I saw some third year students carrying their work - presumably to continue at home. What a pity that they’re having to go through this at the time they should be focusing on the Degree Show, feeling nervous but excited.
It must have been an awful time for the staff at the School. The stress of unknown is hard for anyone, but all the responsibilities to make sure that the teaching will not suffer too much and assessment will be fair despite of sudden changes. I just hope that things will go back to normality before too long.

So, the question now is how to continue painting. I was removed from the studio overlooking the sea in the middle of painting the sea. Though I haven’t actually been depicting the appearance of the sea, shifting colours, sounds and moods of the sea was obviously having a significan impact on what I was painting. Now I am back at home, surrounded by fields with bleeting lambs. And I am not sure how this affect my painting.
