Extracting colours from spring

After what seemed like a long wet winter, nature started indicating the arrival of spring.

There are, of course, individual creatures and plants that signify spring, but we feel it coming in light, sounds, smells….and colours. I once tried to capture the colours of spring by pixellating a series of photographs, and used those colours in an abstract painting. It was an interesting excercise to push abstraction further.

After painting in largely monochromatic pallette, I am feeling the need to revist the colours, in response to the nature.
