Back to colours
What prompted me to go back to the colours - examining my pallete - was a day at a Norfolk beach on a brilliantly sunny day. Strolling on the sandy beach, what caught my attention more than anything was the colours of the sand and water puddles. The seaview was beautiful in a very peaceful and calm way, but it didn’t grab my attention like that in Wales which makes you feel the force of the sea, even on a sunny day.
The colour of the sand was rich and warm in contrast with the coolness of the colours of shimmery water which was flowing towards the sea quietly but relentlessly. Subtle movements and changes in nature is my obsession and I was intrigued.
For now, I’m going to think about the colours and shapes without worrying about completing paintings. It’s time for exploration again.
